We're now a 5* Inn
We’re delighted to announce our status as an AA 5 star inn – one of a small, but exclusive club of just 28 in the UK. ‘The Millstone has evolved a lot in the past few years, and this is fantastic news and great recognition for the team’ says Anson Bolton, Chef Patron. The Millstone is now the second Thwaites Inns of Character to be awarded this highest accolade in the classification.
Tourism Pub of the Year
A highly commended at the Visit England Awards which puts us in the top pubs in England. This is such a great achievement and we would like to say a big thank you to all staff, locals, residents and diners that make The Millstone so special. Onwards and upwards!
Awarded with a Cask Marque
The Independent Award for pubs serving great quality cask ale. The Cask Marque scheme is operated by an independent body, pubs are visited unannounced by an assessor twice a year. The assessor checks all cask ales on sale for – temperature, appearance, aroma and taste.

The Millstone at Mellor is the proud holder of 2 AA Rosettes for fine food since 2004 and Lancashire Life Small Hotel of the Year 2012.
